Your journey begins early in the morning with a pick-up from Arusha or Moshi. After a scenic drive through Maasai villages and rolling farmland, you’ll arrive at Lake Manyara National Park by mid-morning.

Once inside, your game drive begins through the lush groundwater forest where troops of baboons and blue monkeys roam. Keep your eyes open for elephants, which are frequently spotted here.

As you move further into the park, the landscape opens into grasslands and marshes, where you may spot buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes, and zebras grazing. The highlight for many travelers is the chance to see the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, a rare sight in Africa.

Around midday, you’ll stop at a designated picnic site to enjoy a packed lunch with breathtaking views over Lake Manyara. The alkaline lake shimmers in the distance, often painted pink with thousands of flamingos.

In the afternoon, you’ll continue your game drive along the lake shore, spotting hippos, waterbirds, and possibly more predators. By late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and begin your drive back, arriving in Arusha or Moshi in the evening.
