Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
The adventure begins with a transfer from Arusha or Moshi to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. After registration, you’ll meet your armed ranger and guide before beginning the trek.
The trail winds through open grassland and montane forest, where giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and monkeys may be spotted. After 5–6 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Miriakamba Hut, where dinner and overnight stay await.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3,570m)
After breakfast, continue hiking through steep forest paths and giant heathers. The air gets thinner, and the views more dramatic. By afternoon, you’ll arrive at Saddle Hut, located just below Little Meru.
Later in the day, take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m). From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscapes before returning to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Summit (4,566m) – Miriakamba Hut
Summit day begins very early, around midnight. The trek leads past Rhino Point (3,800m) and along a narrow ridge to Socialist Peak (4,566m). This section is challenging but incredibly rewarding as you reach the summit in time for a spectacular sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro.
After enjoying the views, descend carefully back to Saddle Hut for rest and refreshments. Later, continue descending to Miriakamba Hut, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha
Enjoy a relaxed morning trek down through the forest to Momella Gate, where wildlife sightings such as buffalo and giraffes are common. Upon arrival at the gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate before being transferred back to Arusha or Moshi, marking the end of your unforgettable Mount Meru trek.
